Arsenal are reportedly in talks with the talented youngster Amario Cozier-Duberry over a new contract, as they aim to fend off interest from rival clubs. The 18-year-old, who can play as a winger or attacking midfielder, has caught the attention of teams in the Premier League and across Europe. Discussions between Arsenal and Cozier-Duberry are ongoing, with further talks planned in the coming weeks and months. The Gunners are keen to secure the future of the promising player, whose current deal expires at the end of the season.
Cozier-Duberry joined Arsenal’s Hale End academy at the age of 14 in 2019, after being poached from Chettle Court Rangers. Although he is yet to make his professional senior debut, he has impressed in friendly matches for the Arsenal first team and has been a standout performer in the club’s youth sides. Arsenal U18s boss Jack Wilshere has described him as ‘unplayable’ and a player who can ‘make things happen’.
During Arsenal’s 2022-23 FA Youth Cup campaign, Cozier-Duberry played a crucial role, scoring five goals and providing three assists in six matches. Unfortunately, the north Londoners were defeated by West Ham in the final. In June 2022, he signed his first professional contract with the first team and was included in the pre-season squad that toured the United States.
Cozier-Duberry will be hoping to make his professional debut for Arsenal soon, after being named as an unused substitute in several Premier League matches last season. The Gunners face competition from other clubs for his signature, but they are determined to keep hold of the talented youngster.
