Brown Bears Fall to Providence College in Non-Conference Finale

The Brown Bears faced a tough loss in their non-conference finale against Providence College on Tuesday. The Friars came out on top with a 3-1 victory at Lennon Family Field.

The game started off with a scoreless first quarter, but the Friars quickly took control in the second quarter, scoring two goals within a few minutes. Marley Mailloux and Lily Procaccianti were the goal scorers for Providence College.

Brown’s goalkeeper, Ella Edmonds, made some impressive saves in the first half, totaling seven saves. However, the Friars managed to extend their lead in the second half.

Lexi Pellegrino, a sophomore for Brown, scored a goal in the final minutes of the game, bringing the Bears within one point of the Friars. But Providence College responded with another goal, securing their victory.

The shot count was close, with Providence College having a slight advantage of 11-9. They also had more penalty corners, with a 5-3 edge over Brown.

Brown’s next game will be against the Penn Quakers on Saturday in Philadelphia. The Bears are looking to end their season on a high note.
