Hey folks! I’ve got some awesome news to share with you today. So, there was this annual golf day hosted by the super talented hairdresser, Andrew Collinge. And guess what? They managed to raise a whopping £11,330 for a fantastic charity called Hft, which supports adults with learning disabilities. How amazing is that?
The golf day took place at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, which is like the coolest venue ever. It’s where this year’s Open Championship happened, so you know it’s a big deal. Ten teams of four players each battled it out on the golf course, all for a good cause. They were not only competing for first place but also raising funds to help learning disabled adults live their best lives.
The day started with an exciting 18-hole game of golf. Can you imagine the thrill? After that, everyone headed inside the famous clubhouse for a delicious lunch and a prize-giving ceremony. The team from Naturen, an organic and natural ingredient supplier, totally rocked it and took home the first-place trophy. Way to go, guys!
This year was extra special because it marked the 20th anniversary of the event. Can you believe it? For two whole decades, this golf day has been bringing people together and making a difference. It’s been sponsored by some big names in the hairdressing industry like L’Oreal, TIGI, Wella, and of course, Andrew’s own brand, Collinge and Co. Talk about star power!
Andrew Collinge himself couldn’t contain his excitement. He said, ‘The Hft golf day is always a blast, but more importantly, it raises money for such an important charity. We’ve been lucky to have amazing supporters and sponsors over the years, some of whom have been with us since the very first event 20 years ago. It’s heartwarming to see everyone come together, share stories, and leave knowing they’ve supported a wonderful cause.’
Now, let me tell you a little bit about Andrew’s personal connection to Hft. When he was a teenager, he took part in a sponsored fundraising walk in the Wirral and that’s when he first learned about Hft. But it doesn’t end there. His sister, Joanne, has been supported by the charity for the past nine years in Cheshire. So, it’s a cause that’s close to his heart.
Mandy Bunce, the Chair of Trustees at Hft, explained just how important this golf day is for the charity. She said, ‘At Hft, we’re privileged to support so many incredible people with learning disabilities. Each one of them has their own dreams and goals, but sometimes they need a little extra help to achieve them. That’s where events like this come in. The funds raised can make a huge difference, whether it’s providing a BBQ and garden furniture, organizing outings with friends, or teaching new skills. We’re incredibly grateful to Andrew, the team at the Royal Liverpool Golf Club, and all the sponsors and supporters who make this day possible. You guys are amazing!’

That’s all for now, folks. Remember, every little bit counts when it comes to making a difference in someone’s life. So, let’s keep spreading the love and supporting amazing charities like Hft. Catch you later!
