Hey basketball fans, get ready for some exciting news! The Drexel men’s and women’s basketball teams are going to be on TV! That’s right, you can catch their games on the NBC Sports Philadelphia networks. And guess what? They’ll be on a total of 12 times during the 2023-24 season. How awesome is that?
The action kicks off with the home opener against Temple. It’s a big deal because it’s Drexel’s first Big 5 home game in a long time. The last time Temple played at the Daskalakis Athletic Center was way back in 1985. So mark your calendars for that one!
But wait, there’s more! Three days later, the Dragons will be taking on Fairfield, and that game will also be televised. And that’s not all. Four of the Dragons’ nine CAA home games will be broadcasted too. So you won’t miss a minute of the action when they go up against UNCW, Delaware, Hofstra, and Stony Brook.
The men’s team is looking strong this season. They’re predicted to finish third in the CAA after having three consecutive winning seasons. And they’ve got some talented players on their roster. Amari Williams, the forward, was named the CAA Preseason Player of the Year. And let’s not forget about Justin Moore, who was an Honorable Mention All-CAA selection last season. These guys are ready to bring their A-game!
Now let’s talk about the women’s team. They’ll also be making six appearances on NBC Sports Philadelphia platforms. Their first televised game is against La Salle on November 15. And on December 17, they’ll be facing off against Florida State. It’s always exciting when a Power Five opponent comes to town, right?
The women’s team will also have four televised CAA games. They’ll be going head-to-head with Monmouth, Delaware, UNCW, and Campbell. Coach Amy Mallon is leading the charge for the Dragons, and she’s got a strong team behind her. Drexel has been dominating the CAA in recent years, winning four of the past six Regular Season Championships. They’ve also had six consecutive seasons with 20 or more wins and have made nine straight postseason appearances. Talk about impressive!
So, mark your calendars and get ready to cheer on the Drexel Dragons. You won’t want to miss these exciting games on NBC Sports Philadelphia. And if you want to catch the action live, you can grab season packages, mini-plans, or single-game tickets at DrexelDragons.com/tickets or by calling the Athletic Ticket Office at 1-866-4-DREXEL. Let’s go Dragons!
