Hey there, basketball fans! Get ready for an exciting season of Edinburgh girls basketball. We’ve got a talented team ready to hit the court and make some noise. Let’s dive into what’s in store for the Lancers this year.
First off, let’s talk about our star player, Kyah Streeval. She’s not just a standout on the court, but also in the classroom. With a 4.4 grade-point average, she’s set to be the class valedictorian. Talk about impressive!
Unfortunately, Kyah faced a setback last season when she suffered an ACL injury to her left knee. It was a tough blow for her, forcing her to miss the rest of the basketball season and even the softball season. But Kyah didn’t let that get her down. She stayed involved with the team and helped out as much as possible. That’s the kind of leadership we love to see.
Now, with Kyah back on the court, the Lancers are ready to make some noise. Our new head coach, Dennis Smith, is excited to lead the team to success. He’s seen Kyah’s leadership skills firsthand and knows she’ll be a major asset to the team.
But Kyah isn’t the only talented player on the roster. We’ve got a strong group of returnees, including Alix Streeval, Shyleigh Gobel, Lillie Goff, Kenna Streeval, and Bella Turner. These girls are ready to give it their all and compete at the highest level.
We also have some promising newcomers joining the team. Keep an eye out for Mia Dodson and Kenzie Purvis. They’re eager to make an impact and contribute to the team’s success.
Last season, the Lancers finished with a 6-18 record. It wasn’t the best year, but with a new coach and a determined group of players, we’re ready to turn things around. Our goal is to have a winning season and show everyone what we’re capable of.
Offensively, we’re looking to improve. Last season, we averaged only 29.6 points per game, our lowest in years. But with Kyah back in action and the team’s dedication, we’re confident we can put up bigger numbers and make a statement.
So, mark your calendars and come support the Edinburgh girls basketball team. We’re ready to give it our all and make this a season to remember. Go Lancers!
