Hey everyone! I’ve got some exciting news to share with you. Flathead High School has just selected a new head girls basketball coach. The Kalispell Public Schools Board of Trustees made the decision at their Tuesday meeting. So, who’s the lucky coach? It’s none other than Kaylee Fox, a longtime coach at Flathead High School.
The hiring committee had the tough task of interviewing two candidates, but they ultimately recommended Fox to the school board. And let me tell you, she’s going to do great things for the team. According to Flathead Activities Director Bryce Wilson, Fox has big plans for the program. She wants to keep the expectations high and build a consistent winning program year after year. That’s what I like to hear!
Wilson had nothing but praise for Fox. He said, “Her passion and clear vision of what the program can be was inspirational. She has a high basketball IQ and knowledge, having played in college and coached at all levels. She’s been instrumental in developing our student-athletes’ skills, which has resulted in competitive teams.” Wow, sounds like Fox is the perfect fit!
Now, you might be wondering why the previous coach, Sam Tudor, resigned. Well, it turns out he made a career move away from teaching that would prevent him from coaching to his high standards. It’s always tough to say goodbye to a great coach, but we’re excited to welcome Fox to the team.
Under Tudor’s leadership, the Bravettes had some impressive seasons. They even reached the state tournament in the last two years, with a record of 19-5. But now, it’s time for a new era with Coach Fox.
And get this, we’ve got a strong team to work with. Five key players are returning, including Kennedy Moore, who was named Most Outstanding Player last year. With Fox at the helm and these talented players, I have a feeling we’re in for an amazing season!
So, let’s give a warm welcome to Coach Fox and show our support for the Flathead High School girls basketball team. It’s going to be a fantastic journey!
