Hey there, basketball fans! Get ready for an action-packed season of JMU Men’s Basketball at the Atlantic Union Bank Center. James Madison Athletics has just announced their full promotional schedule for the 2023-24 season, and it’s going to be a blast!
The Dukes, who are now part of the Sun Belt Conference, will be hosting 15 regular-season games this year. And guess what? They’ve been chosen as the preseason favorites to win the conference title! That’s definitely something to be excited about.
The season kicks off on November 12 with a home opener against Howard. It’s going to be a special night as we honor our veterans and current military members during the Hoop for Troops event. Plus, if you’re a student, make sure to arrive early because there will be free food up for grabs!
On November 29, we’ll be showing our appreciation for JMU faculty and staff. If you’re part of the JMU community, you’ll receive a free gift courtesy of CommonWealth One. And don’t worry, all fans will have a chance to get their hands on some free Sun Belt Conference schedule koozies while supplies last.
Mark your calendars for December 19 because it’s time for the annual Holiday Game! Who knows, there might even be a special appearance by a holiday favorite. It’s going to be a festive night full of basketball and holiday cheer.
We’ve also got some color-out games planned for JMU Nation. On January 20, wear your best purple outfit as we take on Marshall. Then, on February 1, it’s the Royal Rivalry game against Old Dominion, so make sure to wear your whitest whites. And finally, on February 10, we’re going all out with a black-out game during the MAC-SBC Challenge. Let’s show our team spirit and fill the arena with black!
Calling all youth sports teams! Join us on February 10 for Youth Sports Day. Come early to collect trading cards and stick around after the game for some fun postgame activities. And if you’re a registered member of the Puppy Pound, don’t miss the pregame party!
We’ve got something special planned for February 15. It’s the first-ever JMU Jam! Get ready for an exciting night inspired by NBA Jam. Fans will receive exclusive JMU Jam themed posters and retro JMU Jam game tokens. It’s going to be a slam dunk of a night!
And last but not least, on February 17, we’ll be celebrating the class of 2024 seniors. It’s their final home game of the regular season, and we want to send them off with a bang. So come out and support our amazing seniors as they take on Georgia Southern.
