Hey golf fans, get ready for an action-packed spring season of Raider Golf! The Wright State golf team has just announced their 2024 spring schedule, and it’s filled with thrilling tournaments that you won’t want to miss. Let’s dive into the details!
Kicking off the spring season in mid-February, the Raiders will be heading to Laredo, Texas to compete in the Border Olympics. Hosted by the University of Houston, this tournament promises to be a fierce battle on the greens.
In March, the Raiders will be hitting the road again, this time to St. Simons Island, Georgia for the Sea Palms Invitational. Hosted by Western Carolina, this tournament will showcase the skills of some of the best collegiate golfers in the country. And that’s not all! Shortly after, the team will be heading to Wilmington, North Carolina for the Seahawk Intercollegiate, hosted by UNC Wilmington.
As the regular season comes to a close, the Raiders will be playing closer to home. First up is The Jewell, hosted by Northern Kentucky, at Elks Run Golf Club in Batavia, Ohio. And then, get ready for the highlight of the season – the Wright State Invitational at Heatherwoode Golf Club. The Raiders have dominated this event in recent years, winning the last three team titles and producing the last three individual winners.
But the excitement doesn’t end there! The Raiders will be heading to Florida for the Horizon League Championship at Mission Inn Resort. It’s going to be an intense battle as the team looks to bring home the championship trophy.
Looking back at the fall season, the Raiders had an impressive performance with three top-five team finishes in five tournaments. And let’s not forget their outstanding record from last year, with three team tournament wins and four second-place finishes.
