Griner and Taurasi Set to Dominate USA Basketball Exhibitions

Hey basketball fans! Get ready for some exciting news! Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi are leading the charge for USA Basketball’s upcoming exhibitions against college teams. This was announced on Thursday, and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

USA Basketball has its sights set on winning their eighth consecutive gold medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics next summer. To prepare for this monumental event, they have organized exhibitions against Tennessee on November 5th and Duke on November 12th. These games will be aired on SEC Network/ESPN App and ACC Network Extra/ESPN App, respectively.

But that’s not all! There will also be a training camp from November 7th to 9th to evaluate the program’s player pool. This is an important step in selecting the best players for the Olympic team.

In addition to the exhibitions and training camp, the U.S. team will be participating in the FIBA Olympic Qualifying Tournament in February. This is another opportunity for the players to showcase their skills and earn a spot on the Olympic roster.

The coaching staff for the team includes Cheryl Reeve from the Minnesota Lynx as the head coach, with Mike Thibault and Curt Miller serving as assistants. With such a talented coaching staff, the players are in good hands!

Now let’s talk about the star players who will be representing the USA in these exhibitions. Brittney Griner and Diana Taurasi, both legends in the game, will be joined by Kahleah Copper, Allisha Gray, Rhyne Howard, Sabrina Ionescu, and Azura Stevens. This is an incredible lineup that is sure to dominate the court!

It’s worth mentioning that this will be Griner’s first USA Basketball competition since her unfortunate detainment in Russia last year. We’re so glad to see her back in action and ready to show the world what she’s capable of!

But wait, there’s more! The exhibitions will also feature some other amazing players. Aliyah Boston, Ariel Atkins, Betnijah Laney, and Jackie Young will be suiting up for the game against Tennessee. On the other hand, Dearica Hamby, Natasha Howard, Arike Ogunbowale, and Kelsey Plum will be taking the court for the Duke matchup. These players are all incredibly talented and will undoubtedly make the games even more exciting!

And let’s not forget about Angel McCoughtry, a two-time Olympian, who will be joining the team at the training camp in Atlanta. Her experience and skills will be a valuable addition to the group.

We can’t wait to see these incredible athletes in action! Make sure to mark your calendars for the exhibitions and show your support for Team USA. Let’s cheer them on as they strive for gold at the 2024 Paris Olympics!
