Highland Martial Arts Centre Jiujitsu athletes have made a lasting impression on the European and world stage. These talented fighters from Inverness took on some of the best Jiu-Jitsu competitors in the world at the European Championships and World Championships held in Wolverhampton. The results were nothing short of remarkable.
At the European Championship, two Highland athletes emerged as champions. Joey McNeil, just 11 years old, showcased his skills and claimed a well-deserved gold medal in his age group. Naomi Pasturczak, a 10-year-old prodigy, put on a sensational performance and was crowned champion in her category, also securing a gold medal. Gabor Pasturczak, 14 years old, showcased his talent and returned home with two bronze medals.
In the World Championships held two months prior, six Highland athletes brought home medals. Effie Maclennan, 13 years old, was in top form as she secured two gold medals and a bronze. Adam Macrae also had a remarkable performance, earning a gold and a silver medal. Joey McNeil continued to impress, claiming a silver medal at the championship, adding to his success at the European Championships. Fraser Mackay, 13 years old, showcased his skills and claimed two bronze medals.
Archie Davies, 13 years old, and Rosie Davies, 8 years old, also made their mark at the world championships, earning bronze medals for their outstanding performances. Rikki Logie, just 10 years old, displayed great potential for the future with his excellent performance at the championships.
