ODU Men’s Basketball Faces Off Against Virginia State in Exhibition Game

Hey basketball fans! Get ready for an exciting exhibition game as the Old Dominion men’s basketball team takes on the Virginia State Trojans. The game will be held at 7 p.m. on Wednesday night at Chartway Arena. Unfortunately, it won’t be streamed, but you can catch all the action on Priority Sports Radio ESPN 94.1 FM starting at 6:30 p.m. with Ted Alexander and Dennis Wolff on the call.

The Monarchs are looking strong this season, with six returning players and nine new faces joining the roster. One player to watch out for is Chaunce Jenkins, who was selected to the Sun Belt Preseason First Team All-Conference after averaging 13.3 points per game last season.

In addition to Jenkins, the team also welcomes back Jason Wade, Imo Essien, Dericko Williams, Cooper Jones, and Bryce Baker. And let’s not forget about the talented freshmen Vasean Allette, Yamari Allette, Dani Pounds, and Jaylen Jenkins. The team has also added some experienced transfers, including Tyrone Williams, Devin Ceaser, RJ Blakney, Leeroy Odiahi, and Sam Hood.

The Virginia State Trojans, coached by former Monarch assistant Lonnie Blow and former ODU standout Ricardo Marsh, had a solid 17-11 record last season. It’s sure to be a competitive matchup!

Prices start at $15 for men’s games and $11 for women’s games, with special discounts for senior citizens, ODU faculty and staff, youth, and military members. And ODU students can register for free tickets to any home game.
