Anais Chace, a rookie goalkeeper from Victoria, BC, has been named the U SPORTS Field Hockey Player of the Week. Chace, who is in her first year of the Engineering program at UVIC, played a crucial role in helping the Victoria field hockey team secure their fifth consecutive Canada West title.
In a game against the Thunderbirds on Saturday, Chace delivered an outstanding performance, shutting out the opposing team and making two crucial saves in the shootout. Her efforts helped the Vikes secure a 0-0 draw and a 4-3 shootout win. The following day, Chace continued to impress as she and her team clinched the CW title with a 1-0 victory.
With their recent success, the Vikes are now headed to the U SPORTS Women’s Field Hockey Championship, which will take place from November 2-6. The championship will be hosted by the OUA champion.
