Hey folks! Guess what? Ranchi is all set to host the Jharkhand Women’s Asian Championship from October 27 to November 5 at the Marang Gomke Jaipal Singh Astroturf Hockey Stadium. And let me tell you, the district administration has come up with a micro security plan to ensure a smooth and safe event.
The authorities have taken the necessary steps to deploy police officers and magistrates at various locations in and around the stadium. They want to make sure that everything goes off without a hitch. Senior district and police officials, including DIG Anoop Birtharay, Deputy Commissioner Rahul Kumar Sinha, and SSP Chandan Kumar Sinha, recently briefed the personnel assigned to the tournament at the Morabadi ground.
During the briefing, DIG Birtharay emphasized the importance of efficient work. He instructed the personnel to thoroughly check the spectators using metal detectors and frisk them to prevent any smuggling of objectionable items like eatables, explosives, firearms, matches, and cigarettes. Safety first, right?
DC Sinha also had some words of wisdom for the officials. He urged them to visit their designated areas before the tournament and seek guidance if needed. He stressed the need to maintain law and order in the city, avoiding any protests or demonstrations that could tarnish Ranchi’s image.
To ensure the safety of the teams, the police have received 12 vehicles from their headquarters. These vehicles will be used to escort the teams from their hotels to the stadium and back. This decision was made following the instructions of Chief Minister Hemant Soren. Safety is a top priority!
The traffic department has also come up with a plan to manage the movement and parking of vehicles around the stadium. SP Kumar Gaurav explained that during the teams’ movement, the road traffic will be temporarily halted to provide them with a clear passage. Around 250 additional personnel have been assigned to manage the traffic during the tournament.
Now, let’s talk about parking. The traffic department has designated specific areas for parking based on the type of pass. Vehicles with a pass will be allowed to enter the first and second-floor parking areas from Bapu Vatika at Morabadi. Team buses, media persons, and vehicles with pass stickers are permitted. The parking for team buses and other important vehicles will be at the Morabadi town police outpost premises. VIP vehicles with red passes can park behind the main stage. Spectators on the first and second floors, along with media persons, can park their vehicles near the main stage. People entering the stadium from gate number 3 can park their vehicles at the southern part of Morabadi ground, while those entering from gate number 4 can park near Karamtoli.
So, folks, get ready for an exciting hockey tournament in Ranchi! The district administration and police are working hard to ensure a safe and enjoyable event for everyone. Let’s cheer for our favorite teams and make this championship a memorable one!
