Lamborghini is making its official debut at the 40th edition of Auto Moto d’Epoca. The Polo Storico has brought two legends from Sant’Agata Bolognese to the show: the very first Countach LP400 ever built and an incredible transformation of a Series 3 Espada currently undergoing restoration.
The Polo Storico is responsible for preserving the history of Sant’Agata Bolognese and its cars through the management and study of the company’s archives, restoration, and certification of historic Lamborghinis.
The Countach LP400, usually on display at the Sant’Agata Bolognese Museum, is the oldest one in existence with chassis number 1120001. This car has an intriguing story: originally red, it went through several development phases. In September 1973, the Countach seemed to have disappeared, apparently replaced by a green LP400. The turning point in the Countach’s history came in 2003 when the green LP400 from Switzerland returned to Sant’Agata Bolognese for restoration. During the conservation work, an extraordinary discovery was made: beneath the green paint, the original red paint emerged.
The 1972 Series 3 Espada with chassis number 8824 was the first four-seater Lamborghini, combining speed and practicality. Currently undergoing restoration, this Espada is presented as a symbol of dedication to preserving the automotive heritage.
Lamborghini’s presence at Auto Moto d’Epoca Bologna is a source of pride and highlights the role of the Polo Storico in preserving the company’s history and iconic creations.
