The Santa Clara women’s tennis team had a successful first day at the Saint Mary’s Fall Invitational. They secured wins in both doubles and singles matches, showcasing their talent and determination. In doubles action, JennaMarie Gordon and Velizara Fileva emerged victorious against Sacramento State’s Warisara Lee and Mayya Gorbunova. They will face off against Cal Poly’s Melissa LaMette and Romane Mosse in the next round. Olivia Wiese also had a strong performance in singles, defeating Cal State Stanislaus’ Zuzanna Dziewiecka before falling to UC Davis’ Olive Maunupau. The team looks forward to continuing their success on the second day of the invitational.
