West Virginia Forward Akok Akok Hospitalized After Scary Incident in Exhibition Game

Hey guys, I’ve got some news about West Virginia forward Akok Akok. So, during a charity exhibition game against George Mason on Friday night, Akok had a bit of a scare. He actually suffered a medical emergency and collapsed during a timeout. It was pretty intense, but thankfully he’s in stable condition now. The medical team rushed over to help him and he was taken to Ruby Memorial Hospital. WVU interim coach Josh Eilert gave an update on Akok’s condition and said that he’s doing okay. He’s stable and responsive, which is a huge relief. Akok even wanted to make sure he congratulated his teammates before he left. What a trooper! They’re going to keep him in the hospital overnight for some testing, just to be safe. The delay in the game lasted for more than 10 minutes, so it was definitely a scary moment for everyone involved. Akok transferred to West Virginia after playing one season at Georgetown. Before that, he spent three years at UConn. This is his final season of eligibility, so it’s a bummer that he had this scare right before the season opener. But hey, the important thing is that he’s going to be okay. The Mountaineers have their first game on November 6th against Missouri State, so hopefully Akok will be back on the court soon. Let’s send him some positive vibes and wish him a speedy recovery!
