A football match involving Jewish players was abandoned as probe launched. It is alleged parents refused to let their children play against other Jewish kids. The Football Association has launched an investigation after a youth match involving a Jewish team had to be abandoned because opposition parents refused to let their children play against them. The match in the Watford Friendly league had to be abandoned as the Hertfordshire-based Panthera team could only field nine players. Coaches from the Maccabi Lions were told by the opposition that their parents did not want their children to play against a Jewish side. The Middlesex FA is conducting an investigation into the abandoned match and is consulting with the Football Association on the appropriate action to take. Both clubs have chosen not to comment on the incident. However, Panthera FC released a statement on their website condemning racism and discrimination. They emphasized their commitment to inclusivity and unity in football. Maccabi Lions, a Barnet-based junior club associated with Maccabi London FC, has multiple teams ranging from under 8s to under 18. The under-14 team plays in the Watford Friendly League organized by the Middlesex Football Association. The Middlesex FA is in communication with both clubs and will carry out a thorough investigation.
