Eddie Jones, the former coach of the Wallabies, has been described as ‘admirable’ by Rugby Australia CEO Phil Waugh, despite his tumultuous tenure. Jones recently resigned after a string of disastrous results, including being hammered in the Bledisloe Cup and failing to advance past the pool stage of the World Cup. Despite these failures, Waugh praised Jones for his handling of the resignation process. There were also rumors of player unrest, but Waugh claimed to be unaware of any such issues. Jones was also accused of conducting a job interview with Japanese Rugby while still working as Wallabies coach, but no further investigation will be conducted. It remains to be seen what the future holds for Jones, but he is not the favorite to return to Japan for an international career.
