San José State women’s golfer Darae Chung has been named the Mountain West October Women’s Golfer of the Month. Chung, a freshman from Wellington, New Zealand, averaged 71.83 strokes over six rounds in two highly competitive tournaments. She achieved her first career top-10 finish at the Illini Women’s Collegiate, shooting a 4-under 212 to tie for ninth place. Chung’s impressive performance helped the Spartans secure a fourth-place finish in a field of 15 teams, including 12 top-50 ranked teams. Additionally, she tied for 46th place at the Stanford Intercollegiate, shooting a 6-over 219 against a field of 19 teams, 16 of which were ranked in the top-50. Chung’s outstanding play has earned her well-deserved recognition as the Mountain West October Women’s Golfer of the Month.
