Zverev Denies Domestic Abuse Allegations and Plans to Contest Court Fine

Tennis star Alexander Zverev is facing allegations of physically abusing his ex-girlfriend, but he has strongly denied the claims. Zverev was fined €450,000 (£390,000) by a Berlin court for the alleged incident that occurred in May 2020. However, Zverev has called the penalty order ‘complete bull****’ and plans to contest it. The case will now proceed to a full public trial, with Zverev’s ex-girlfriend joining as a co-complainant. Zverev, currently ranked world No.9, has been competing at the Paris Masters and recently advanced to the third round. The ATP tour previously conducted an investigation into similar allegations made by another ex-partner, but no disciplinary action was taken due to insufficient evidence. The ATP has refrained from commenting on the recent court order as legal proceedings are ongoing.
