The Georgia Tech women’s tennis team kicked off the Miami Fall Invite with a bang, securing six impressive victories in both singles and doubles play. The morning started with singles action against Northwestern, and the Yellow Jackets dominated with five straight-set wins. Carol Lee showed her skills by defeating Kiley Rabjohns 6-2, 6-3, while Kylie Bilchev triumphed over Sydney Pratt with a score of 6-3, 6-1. Mahak Jain displayed her talent by winning the first set 6-2 and securing a 6-1 victory in the second set against Maria Shusharina. Kate Sharabura made quick work of Autumn Rabjohns, winning 6-2, 6-1. Ruth Marsh fought hard against Elisa Van Meeteren, ultimately winning the match with a 6-4, 7-5 score. In the afternoon, the Yellow Jackets switched to doubles play. Lee and Sharabura teamed up and secured a 6-1 victory over Pratt and Shusharina. Marsh and Meera Jesudason faced a tough battle against Britany Lau and Jennifer Rister, narrowly losing in a tiebreak. The tournament will continue on Saturday at the Neil Schiff Tennis Center.
