Hey everyone, did you catch the Le Moyne women’s basketball team in their season opener against Colorado State? It was a tough game, and the Dolphins unfortunately fell short with a score of 69-49. But hey, they put up a good fight, especially in the second half! Coach Mary Grimes was really proud of the team’s effort and fighting spirit. She mentioned that the team always gives their all and never gives up, which is pretty awesome.
The game saw some standout performances from the Dolphins. Lytoya Baker from Rochester, N.Y., had an impressive double-double with 17 points and 10 rebounds. Sierra Linnin from Valley Cottage, N.Y., also made her mark with eight points, six rebounds, and two assists. And let’s not forget about Sydney Lusher from Oneida, N.Y., who pulled down six rebounds and contributed six points and two assists.
The Dolphins also had some new faces on the court, with Leah Middleton from Auburn, N.Y., making her collegiate debut and scoring six points. It’s always exciting to see new talent in action!
On the other side, Colorado State’s McKenna Hofschild was a force to be reckoned with, leading the Rams with 24 points, six rebounds, and five assists. She’s definitely a key player for them, and Coach Grimes acknowledged her phenomenal skills.
