Emma Raducanu is getting closer to making a comeback after undergoing three surgeries earlier this year. The 20-year-old tennis sensation has hinted that she might give the Australian Open a miss in January as she continues her recovery. Raducanu had surgeries on both wrists and her ankle to prevent recurring injuries, which affected her form after her remarkable 2021 US Open triumph. Fans have been eagerly waiting for her return, with many expecting her to be back for the Australian Open. However, Raducanu has suggested that it might take her several tournaments to get back to full fitness. She even hinted that she could skip the Australian Open to avoid a repeat of her disappointing second-round defeat to Coco Gauff this year. Raducanu expressed her optimism about her comeback after the injury hiatus, saying that the process has been slow and repetitive. She found it difficult to train after the surgeries, but mentally, she feels like she’s in a better place to compete now than ever before since the US Open. She mentioned that it’s the best feeling to be back on the court after being in the gym or the rehab room for so long. Raducanu has not played since the Stuttgart Open in April and is looking forward to returning to the form that saw her win the US Open two years ago.
