Hey guys, check this out! LSU Women’s Golf just got three awesome new players on their team. Rocio Tejedo from Spain, Josefin Widal from Sweden, and Samantha Olson from Arizona are joining the Tiger squad in the 2024-25 season. Coach Runion is super pumped about it and he says these girls are not just great players, but also great people from great families. Rocio and Josefin have some serious international experience, playing for Team Europe at the junior Ryder Cup and junior Solheim Cup. And get this, Rocio’s sister, Carla Tejedo, has been on the team for the last four years, so it’s like a family affair! Samantha Olson is no stranger to the game either, with top-10 finishes in big events like the U.S. Girls Junior Silver Belle and the Pete and Alice Dye Junior. These girls are ready to bring their A-game and make a big impact on the LSU Women’s Golf Program. Tejedo is ranked No. 19 in the World Amateur Golf Rankings and has a bunch of wins under her belt, including the Copa Andalusia and the German Girls Open. Widal, who’s from the same hometown and golf club as LSU’s Lindblad, has also represented Team Europe and has some impressive wins to her name. Olson has shown her skills in top events like the Fortinet Girls Invitational and the Justin Thomas Junior Championships. She’s also been involved with the Golf Fore Africa charitable foundation, which is pretty cool. These girls are definitely ones to watch, and they’re bringing some serious talent to the team. Can’t wait to see them in action!
