Meet Brice Patoux: The New Tennis Sensation at Ole Miss

Ole Miss men’s tennis is all set to welcome a new player to the team in January. Brice Patoux, a talented young tennis player from France, has signed his National Letter of Intent, and head coach Toby Hansson couldn’t be more thrilled. According to Hansson, Brice is a fantastic addition to the team and will fit in really well. He’s a great competitor and is expected to make an immediate impact in both singles and doubles.

Hansson also highlighted Patoux’s impressive performance in his junior career, where he achieved a 13-10 record in singles across nine ITF Grade 5 tournaments. Notably, Patoux reached the semi-finals in the J5 Honfleur tournament, defeating several top-rated players, including Andres Delgadillo, who holds an ITF career-high ranking of 227.

In his ITF World Tennis Tour career, Patoux secured five wins in four tournaments across France. His most significant professional win was a straight-set 6-4, 6-2 victory at the M15 Bressuire tournament against Adan Freire Da Silva, who has been ranked as high as No. 3 in the ITF rankings.

Patoux’s decision to join Ole Miss was influenced by the campus’s beauty and unique atmosphere. He expressed his desire to continue progressing in tennis and perhaps even play professionally.

This signing marks a significant milestone as Patoux becomes the first French recruit to join the Rebels under Hansson’s leadership, having previously played for the USC Bois Guillaume club team.
