Hey guys, the No. 7 men’s hockey team is back at Lynah Rink and they’re ready to keep their winning streak going. The Red (4-0-0, 2-0 ECAC) will be taking on Dartmouth (1-1-2, 1-0-2 ECAC) on Friday, Nov. 10, and then they’ll be facing off against Harvard (0-1-2, 0-1-2 ECAC) on Saturday, Nov. 11.
Freshman defenseman Ben Robertson is super pumped about it. He said, “[I’m] super excited. It’s something you hear a lot about. Just to be able to experience it with the group of guys here is super special and [it’s] something that I’ve been looking forward to for a long time.”
But before the big game against Harvard, the team has to deal with Dartmouth first. Don’t be fooled by Dartmouth’s losing record – they’ve had some impressive wins, like a 7-2 win against the Under-18 National Development team and a shootout victory over Quinnipiac. Coach Mike Schafer ’86 knows it’s going to be tough, but he’s confident the team will be ready.
The Red’s defense has been on fire, with a .75 goals against per game, the best in the country. Freshman Ben Robertson has been killing it too, with a four-game point streak and five assists.
Sophomore goaltender Ian Shane has been a beast in the net, with a .958 save percentage in four starts. He’s been racking up the awards, but he’s all about the team and the results.
The big game against Harvard is going to be intense. Harvard might have lost some key players, but they’re still a force to be reckoned with. It’s a rivalry game, and the Red is ready to bring their A-game.
The games are set for 7 p.m. and you can catch them on ESPN+. Let’s go Red!
