UConn’s thrilling 4-3 victory over Merrimack was sealed by Andrew Lucas’ game-winning goal with just 48 seconds remaining. This win allowed UConn to split the weekend series, following their 6-3 defeat in the series opener on Friday night. The Huskies (5-6-1, 3-3-0/Hockey East) showcased their scoring prowess with goals from Ryan Mahshie, Nick Capone, and Samu Salminen.
Looking ahead, UConn is gearing up to face off against Boston College in a two-game showdown next Friday (Nov. 17) and Saturday (Nov. 18). The first game will take place at BC, while the second game will be held at the Toscano Family Ice Forum in Storrs.
Quinnipiac’s Dominant Win Over Yale
The reigning national champions, Quinnipiac, continued their impressive form with a resounding 5-2 victory over archrival Yale in Hamden on Saturday. This win marked their 13th consecutive triumph over Yale, further solidifying their dominance. Quinnipiac’s unbeaten streak now stands at five games, with an outstanding performance since their 2-2 draw with Dartmouth on Nov. 3. The Bobcats have outscored their opponents 16-3, including a remarkable 6-0 win against No. 18 Harvard and a 5-1 victory over Brown prior to their latest success.
In the clash against Yale, five different players from Quinnipiac found the back of the net, with standout performances from Jayden Lee and Collin Graf, who both contributed three points. Jacob Quillan and Andon Cerbone also delivered stellar multi-point displays. Quinnipiac’s upcoming fixtures will see them playing at home against Cornell and Colgate on Nov. 17-18.
