Broome’s martial arts sensation TJ Anderson has made a triumphant return home with a bag full of medals. The young martial artist, sponsored by Kimberley Care Group, travelled across Australia to showcase his skills in various jiujitsu and martial arts competitions. In the recent Pan Pacific Jiu-Jitsu Championships in Melbourne, Anderson clinched two gold medals, a silver, and a bronze in the juvenile division, proving his exceptional talent. His success continued at the 2023 AJJC Australian National Championships, where he secured a silver in gi sparring and a bronze in no-gi sparring, further solidifying his reputation as a rising star in the martial arts world.
Adding to his impressive list of victories, Anderson emerged victorious in his division at the WAJJC State Championships in Perth, showcasing his strategic and technical prowess with a flawless 13-0 record on points. His submission victory highlighted his exceptional skill and dedication to the sport. Not only is Anderson excelling individually, but he is also playing a pivotal role in nurturing young talents within the Broome martial arts community.
Together with promising fighters Xavier Taylor-Fuller and Mackie Brown, Anderson led his team to an outstanding performance at the ATI inter-club Mixed Martial Arts competition, securing an impressive tally of 10 gold medals, four silver medals, and one bronze medal. Anderson’s dedication and success are not only inspiring but also instrumental in the growth of martial arts in Broome.
