The BSU Women’s Hockey team is hitting the ice this weekend to take on their in-state rivals, Minnesota State-Mankato. The Beavers are still on the hunt for their first win of the season, and they’re hoping that the week off will give them the boost they need for their weekend series.
Senior forward Kayla Santl said, “This weekend break came at just the right time for us. It gave us a chance to rest and recover, and then we put in the work during the week. The past few weekends have been tough, but we’re looking forward to the battle against Mankato. We’re hoping for good things.”
Head coach Jim Scanlan also expressed optimism, saying, “We had a really good week of practice leading up to the bye week, and we had a spirited practice on Friday. It was a mental reset and a good time to recover physically and mentally. Yesterday’s practice was really, really good, so I know the group’s looking forward to the weekend. We expect a battle with the Mavericks.”
The first game is on Friday, Nov. 17 at 6 p.m., followed by Game 2 on Saturday, Nov. 18 at 3. It’s going to be an exciting weekend for the team, and they’re ready to give it their all on the ice.
