The club was absolutely buzzing as volunteer coaches and the Boys Youth U15 squad organized a series of matches on all the club’s pitches. Can you imagine the energy and excitement on the field? Plus, girls from Lynn schools and other rugby clubs across the Eastern Counties joined in the fun. It was a real rugby extravaganza!
The games were so spirited and competitive, but you know what? The atmosphere was totally warm and inclusive. It was all about cheering on the new players and giving them a huge shoutout. That’s the kind of positive spirit we love to see, don’t you agree?
And here’s something really cool – the event wasn’t just about the games. It was also about showcasing the true spirit of rugby, with values like Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline, and Sportsmanship shining through. How amazing is that? It’s not just about winning; it’s about playing the game with heart and respect.
Now, let me tell you about something fantastic – the youth girls’ head coach, Ellen Collison, was absolutely thrilled about the whole event. She said, and I quote, “Seeing all these young women come together to take part in a sport that can sometimes be perceived as being too rough for girls, and absolutely loving both the sport and the friendship they discover on the pitch, is so rewarding and shows that all clubs have a really important role in building a clear future for girls in rugby. No-one should ever feel that they can’t take part – rugby is inclusive and has a place for everyone.” Pretty awesome, right? It’s all about breaking stereotypes and having a blast on the field!
And guess what? After the girls’ event, the West Norfolk Warriors (Women’s 1st XV) took to the pitch, and you know what the home youth girls did? They formed a guard of honour to clap the senior players onto the pitch. It was like the cherry on top of an epic day of rugby fun! 😎
