SneakyLinks, a new mini golf venue in Bury St Edmunds, has recently opened its doors and it’s definitely not your average golf experience. The course, which features nine holes of crazy golf, is designed with a lot of creativity and thought, making it a fun and unique spot for entertainment.
This quirky mini golf venue offers a refreshing take on the traditional game. The highlight of the course is the incorporation of street art by local artist Joel Miller Chip, bringing a cool and urban vibe to the experience. It also pays homage to the town’s skate park culture and other elements that give it a playful and distinctive feel.
One of the best things about SneakyLinks is that it’s not just about golf. There’s a can bar to keep players refreshed, as well as plenty of shelves and ledges around the course to rest drinks. Additionally, there are ‘can crushing’ stations to promote recycling and a nod to the previous tenants of the space, including a snooker table, a garden shed, and even a reference to the BBC Test card.
But don’t worry, classic crazy golf enthusiasts, there’s still a windmill and a fun ‘end game’ to keep the competitive spirit alive. And while it may not appeal to all golf fans, it’s definitely a fun and exciting attraction for the festive season and beyond.
While the venue is only open to those over 18, it’s a great option for a night out with friends or a unique Christmas party experience. As a golf professional, I think it’s great to see different and innovative ways of getting people to engage with the sport.
Moving on, the Thetford Golf Club is celebrating first assistant greenkeeper David Ball’s win in the 2023 British & International Golf Greenkeepers Association (BIGGA) Annual Photographic Competition. His stunning winter shot of the golf course was chosen as the overall winner, showcasing the natural beauty and challenges faced by greenkeepers.
Thetford GC recently hosted a Night Golf event, where LED lights were set up across five holes and players enjoyed a unique glowing golf experience. The event was a huge success, and it’s definitely something to look forward to in the future.
At the Suffolk Men’s Midweek Stableford, Chris Tate secured the top spot, while Andrew Rudd emerged victorious in the Senior Men’s Stableford. Meanwhile, over at Stowmarket GC, the Seniors held a Texas Scramble with an impressive winning score.
At Bury St Edmunds GC, the men’s Midweek Stableford saw some impressive scores, including a close battle in Division One. The ladies and juniors also had their share of success, showcasing the club’s diversity and active participation of members.
In conclusion, the opening of SneakyLinks has definitely brought an exciting new experience to the golfing scene in Bury St Edmunds. With its unique and fun-filled course, it’s sure to be a hit with the local residents and visitors alike. And let’s not forget the well-deserved recognition for David Ball and the success of the various golf events across different clubs, showing that the golfing community is thriving.
I encourage you to check out SneakyLinks and experience it for yourself, and as always, I wish you a great week of golfing!
