Rising Success of Grizzly Jiu Jitsu School in British Columbia

The Grizzly Jiu Jitsu school, located in Barriere, has been gaining recognition in the province of British Columbia. Over the weekend of November 18-19, two significant Jiu-Jitsu championships took place in Burnaby at BCIT and in Kamloops and Grizzly Jiu Jitsu made its mark in both events.

Three students from Grizzly Jiu Jitsu participated in the tournaments, with commendable results. Jordee Beeds, a 27-year-old father from Birch Island, demonstrated his passion for Jiu Jitsu by earning a silver medal in his Adult Gi category at the Champions Choice BJJ Fall Open in Kamloops. Beeds conveyed his enthusiasm for the sport, expressing that it has led to improvements in his physical and mental well-being.

Meanwhile, two young students from the North Thompson region, Mason Wohlgemuth and Jamie Stephens, accompanied by their coach Rod McLean, travelled to Burnaby to compete in the Pacific Northwest Open BCJJF Jiu-Jitsu Championship at BCIT. Mason secured a silver medal and Jamie received a bronze, both in the white belt Gi category.

Coach McLean lauded the dedication and progress of his students, acknowledging the solid reputation that Grizzly Jiu Jitsu is establishing within the British Columbia Jiu-Jitsu community. He expressed his pride in the hard work and accomplishments of the team, reflecting the growing prominence of the school in various competitions.
