The Shrewsbury Club, renowned for its prestigious tennis events, is currently facing criticism regarding its proposal to construct a 146-bed tennis hotel. More than 10 objections from local residents have raised several concerns, predominantly centred around potential issues involving traffic, parking, and noise. The contentious plan to erect a four-storey hotel has sparked a considerable amount of public debate, with residents expressing apprehensions about heightened traffic, parking challenges, and disturbances caused by noise. These objections serve to underscore the possible impact of the proposed hotel on the immediate vicinity, particularly in relation to traffic congestion and disturbances stemming from evening events and increased activity at the club. Furthermore, concerns have been voiced regarding the privacy and natural light of residences on Holdgate Drive, which may become compromised as a result of the construction of the four-storey edifice.
