Tennis Pro’s Heartfelt Gift: A Life-Saving Gesture

Former Wimbledon wildcard Johannus Monday has graciously received a life-saving defibrillator from his East Yorkshire primary school, where his tennis career took root. Acting in kind, Mr. Monday then donated this invaluable gift to Cottingham Lawns Tennis Club (CLTC), the very place where he fostered his tennis expertise. In response, the club is actively engaging in fundraising efforts to facilitate the installation of the defibrillator on their premises, specifically in the club’s car park, ensuring accessibility to the broader local community.

Mr. Monday expressed his delight at the opportunity to revisit his alma mater and tennis club, underscoring the honour of contributing to such a significant cause as an ambassador for CLTC. Paul Holtby, the esteemed head coach of CLTC, emphasized the critical importance of the defibrillator to the local community and underscored its potential to save lives. Furthermore, the tennis club has diligently planned a fundraising event on 2nd December to cover the expenses associated with installing the life-saving equipment.

This heartening initiative not only exemplifies the benevolence and community spirit of Johannus Monday and the tennis club but also stands as a testament to the profound impact of athletes on their local communities.
