First is Lindzi Avar, a senior forward from Minnetonka, who has already made a significant impact this season, earning an impressive 10 points and displaying her versatility as a center. Avar, committed to Cornell, aims to lead Minnetonka to a Class 2A state title.
Junior defender Mackenzie Jones from Andover is known for leveraging her size and strength on the ice. Standing at 5-11, she has already verbally committed to Wisconsin.
Another key player is senior defender Cailin Mumm, also from Andover. With experience representing the United States at the 2023 IIHF Under-18 Women’s World Championship, Mumm brings a wealth of experience to her role as captain.
Ayla Puppe, a senior forward from Northfield, is a dominant force on the ice, with an impressive 53 goals and 35 assists last season. Her outstanding performance has earmarked her as a Ms. Hockey candidate, and she is set to join the Gophers.
Josie St. Martin, the leading scorer for Stillwater last season, continues to be a formidable presence on the ice, displaying her speed and agility as a forward. Committed to Ohio State, she is a player to watch this season.
Dani Strom, the senior goaltender from Maple Grove, has been identified by coach Jim Koltes as one of the best in her position. With an impressive record from previous seasons, including a 95% save percentage, her commitment to St. Thomas is a testament to her skill and potential.
The Dream Team selection process was no simple task, with 15 strong contenders vying for a spot on the roster. These players, including Grace Bickett, Chloe Boreen, Addie Bowlby, Kendra Distad, Hannah Halverson, Carly Humphrey, Josie Lang, Courtney Little, Zoe Lopez, Lily McKenzie, Addy Mitchell, Makayla Moran, Lily Pachl, Bella Shipley, and Grace Zahn, represent the wealth of talent in the Minnesota girls hockey scene.
