Nevertheless, a paradigm shift is imminent. Two industrial consortiums have merged to establish the Car Connectivity Consortium (CCC), with the objective of identifying a standard for implementation. Notable companies participating in this initiative include Apple, Google, Cisco, Samsung, Qualcomm, and several other esteemed brands.
Daniel Knobloch, vice president of CCC, articulated the advantages of this form of key, affirming, “Irrespective of the vehicle you operate, any phone, whether it be an Apple, Google, or Samsung device, can be utilised. Our aim is to create an ecosystem compatible with all phones and devices.”

For instance, BMW has introduced a feature enabling the car to be unlocked utilising a Near Field Communication (NFC) card in the event of smartphone battery depletion.
