The Hamilton College men’s basketball team endured a challenging 82-60 defeat at the hands of the University of Rochester’s Yellowjackets in the recent University Athletic Association Challenge. Conversely, Rochester, a fellow member of the University Athletic Association, boasts a 4-3 record.
Throughout the game, Teja Singh ‘25 made a considerable impact by netting 24 points for Hamilton. Singh’s remarkable performance included sinking a 3-pointer and executing a 3-point play, which provided his team with a 10-4 advantage early in the first half. He maintained his scoring prowess by connecting on consecutive jumpers, further bolstering Hamilton’s lead.
Despite Singh’s valiant efforts, Rochester successfully seized command of the game, ultimately clinching the victory. The Yellowjackets outperformed the Continentals in various facets, shooting 51.7 percent from the field and 78.3 percent from the free-throw line. Additionally, Rochester showcased depth in their bench, tallying 43 points in contrast to Hamilton’s 10.
Singh was not the sole standout player in the game, as Hank Morgan ‘25 also made substantial contributions by contributing 16 points for the Continentals. On the defensive front, Jalen Reese ‘27 led his team with three blocks and three steals.
