Brighton successfully fended off a late surge from Corner Canyon in the fourth quarter, securing a narrow 54-51 victory and improving their season record to a commendable 5-0. Elina Mortensen led the scoring for Corner Canyon with an exceptional 26 points, closely followed by Maia Rhay with 15 points. Meanwhile, Olivia Stephens spearheaded Brighton’s offense with 18 points, supported by Taylor Workman and Sophie Nielsen who contributed significantly with 11 and 10 points respectively.
In another compelling contest, Mountain Ridge staged a remarkable comeback to overcome Fremont 49-45, demonstrating their resilience and determination. Kya Newton emerged as the standout player for Mountain Ridge, notching a game-high 17 points and two 3-pointers, securing their third victory of the season.
Layton Christian also showcased their dominance with a resounding 55-34 victory over Ben Lomond, propelled by Penelope Arroyo’s impressive 18 points, including three 3-pointers.
West Jordan achieved an impressive victory against Roy, prevailing 44-34, with Rochelle Afo Manuma leading the charge with 18 points and 13 rebounds, showcasing her prowess on the court.
