A Heartfelt Thank You from the Glenwood Springs Youth Hockey Association

The Glenwood Springs Youth Hockey Association expresses its deep gratitude to the esteemed community partners and sponsors who were instrumental in the resounding success of our Avalanche Alumni fundraiser event. The unwavering support of two key sponsors was absolutely vital in bringing this event to fruition. Firstly, we extend our sincere thanks to the Melville Family of the historic Hotel Colorado, who graciously served as the lodging sponsor for our NHL luminaries and hosted the Apres Ice party in the elegant Devereaux Ballroom. Additionally, we are immensely grateful to the city of Glenwood Springs and Community Center staff for their relentless efforts in preparing the rink and ensuring a warm welcome for our community and alumni guests.

A special mention is owed to our Roster Sponsors, who generously underwrote player positions, enabling young student-athletes from the Roaring Fork Valley to share the ice with their NHL idols in a fun and spirited game. We are deeply thankful for the invaluable support from Hotel Colorado, Woody Creek Distillers, Zane’s Tavern, Village Market, Aspen Junior Hockey, and Grizzly Hockey, who also provided underwriting for 3 certified youth officials for the game.

The success of our event was further bolstered by our Event Sponsors, including Mr. Vac, Valley Ortho, Bank of Colorado, Bishop Plumbing, Alpine Bank, SGM, Glenwood Canyon Brewpub, Citadel Security, Bethel Party Rentals, Iron Mountain Hot Springs, and media sponsor Post Independent. We are also grateful to the generous auction donors and their significant contributions to the success of our fundraiser, including Hotel Colorado, Aspen Skiing Company, Colorado Avalanche & Avalanche Alumni Association, Sunlight Mountain Resort, Alpine Bank, Woody Creek Distillers, Anytime Fitness, Avalanche Ranch, and The Grind.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Slow Groovin’ BBQ, the dedicated staff at the Hotel Colorado, and the numerous volunteers who wholeheartedly contributed to the success of both the rink and the Apres Ice party. Special gratitude is also extended to Grizzly Hockey Director TK Kwiatkowski for establishing a powerful partnership with the Colorado Avalanche Alumni Association, as both our organisations share the common goal of developing youth hockey and nurturing the love of the game.

Lastly, we express our immense gratitude to the alumni players who brought the enchanting energy of NHL greatness to our town. Their gracious interactions with fans and tireless autograph-signing left a lasting impression.

We are already looking forward to hosting this amazing party again next year, with a promise to make it even grander and more spectacular!

With utmost appreciation,

Jeanne Golay, Event Chair, and the Grizzly Hockey Board of Directors
