Exciting Announcement: NEC Unveils 2023-24 Basketball TV Lineup

The Northeast Conference (NEC) has recently unveiled its highly anticipated 25-game basketball television package for the 2023-24 season. Notably, Le Moyne College’s men’s and women’s basketball teams are scheduled to be featured twice in the package.

Furthermore, basketball enthusiasts can expect to see 23 games showcased on ESPN platforms, while CBS Sports Network will televise two games. In addition, ESPNU will air one men’s and one women’s game. Importantly, all 25 games will be broadcast nationally in some form.

ESPN+ is set to broadcast 19 NEC basketball games this season, including some exclusively. The newest regional partner, the YES Network, will televise seven contests. Additionally, this year’s NEC schedule includes 12 women’s games. To ensure equitable representation, all NEC men’s and women’s teams will be featured at least twice during the regular season.

Adding to the excitement, six NEC Tournament games, including the title games on ESPN2 (men) & ESPNU (women), will be televised.

The partnership between the NEC and ESPN will provide fans with the opportunity to watch the games through ESPN streaming services on the web and via the ESPN App on smartphones, tablets, and connected devices. With ESPN+ being the premier destination for basketball enthusiasts this winter, the streaming service will host a lineup of ten NEC women’s games and nine men’s contests. Fans can subscribe to ESPN+ for £10.99 a month (or £109.99 per year) at ESPN.com, ESPNplus.com, or on the ESPN App.

As the season builds to March, ESPN+ will carry the men’s semifinals on Saturday, March 9, and the women’s semis on Thursday, March 14. The men’s title game will be televised by ESPN2 on Tuesday, March 12th at 7:00 pm, while ESPNU is set to air the NEC Women’s Championship game on Sunday, March 17th at 12:00 pm.

The addition of YES Network as the NEC’s newest regional partner will further enhance the conference’s presence in the New York metro area. YES is preparing to broadcast three regular season games on its linear network and on the YES App. YES and the YES App plan to air the NEC men’s and women’s semifinals in March, pending any potential conflicts with New York Yankees spring training games.

Furthermore, the conference foresees the addition of additional regional syndication partners in the lead up to conference play.

With Le Moyne College’s participation, basketball enthusiasts can look forward to the women’s team hosting Central Connecticut State University on Friday, January 19 at 7:00 p.m. The game will also air on ESPN+ and YES Network. Additionally, the men’s team will be featured when they host a game to air on ESPN+ and YES Network on Saturday, February 17, against Stonehill College at 2:00 p.m.

Regarding broadcasting, Dave Popkin is the primary play-by-play announcer for men’s broadcasts, with Paul Dottino filling in. Tim Capstraw and Joe DeSantis are set to split color analyst duties. Dottino and Craig D’Amico will once again split play-by-play duties on women’s telecasts, with Pam Roecker returning as color analyst.

With the extensive lineup of games and the prestigious collaboration between the NEC and ESPN, basketball enthusiasts are guaranteed an eventful season packed with thrilling matchups and action-packed game days.
