Exciting Updates on High School Ice Hockey Rankings

The Colorado High School Activities Association has recently unveiled the latest ice hockey rankings, sparking significant interest among teams, coaches, and fans. Departing from the conventional weekly coaches polls, CHSAA has introduced its Seedings Index, a dynamic tool that provides real-time updates on team rankings throughout the season. This innovative approach seeks to provide a more precise and current representation of each team’s standing, particularly as the postseason approaches.

A notable feature of the CHSAA Seedings Index is its ability to be updated hourly, offering all stakeholders a clearer understanding of a team’s position. It is important to note, however, that the rankings on the Seedings Index page may differ slightly as the data is regularly refreshed following each game result.

In order to be considered for inclusion in the CHSAA Seedings Index, teams must have played a minimum number of games, with this requirement determined by MaxPreps. Furthermore, the availability of the Seedings Index may not align with the start of every season, typically becoming accessible around 3-5 weeks into a specific season.

As of the week commencing December 18th, the current rankings are as follows:

Class 5A

6. Denver East (3-1-1)
7. Castle View (3-1)
