A New Chapter: Dereham Golf Club Brings “Fore Get Me Not Golf” to Norfolk

A new initiative, “Fore Get Me Not Golf,” is set to launch at Dereham Golf Club in Norfolk, offering individuals living with dementia and their partners or carers the opportunity to come together, socialise, and enjoy games at the golf course. The concept, inspired by a similar project at Seckford Golf Club in Suffolk, is the brainchild of club secretary Stuart Goodman, who aims to give back to the community and provide support for those with dementia.

The program not only focuses on socialisation and leisure but also aims to raise funds for local dementia groups, with proceeds going towards research. Partnering with the Forget Me Not charity, the initiative has already generated interest and raised around £500 for the cause. Dereham Golf Club’s commitment to enriching the lives of community members is evident as it becomes the first club in the county to offer such a program.
