Exciting New Junior Golf Series to be Launched in Singapore in 2024

The Singapore Golf Association (SGA) has joined forces with BFG Golf to establish a new series of golf tournaments tailored for junior players, which will commence in 2024. The newly introduced series will offer over 30 opportunities for budding golfers ranging from five to 14 years of age to display their prowess across various golf courses in Singapore, including Seletar, Tanah Merah, Sembawang, Orchid, and Singapore Island Country Club.

Participants will have the prospect of securing rankings through the SGA’s Junior Development Order of Merit (Jdoom), a point-based system that will also serve as the selection criterion for SGA future and junior squads, along with international junior tournaments. This ranking system will culminate in a prestigious grand final at Sentosa Golf Club on Dec 10, 2024, where the top five juniors from different divisions will vie for victory.

The president of SGA, Tan Chong Huat, has conveyed his optimism for the upcoming season and underlined the positive impact of the new series on the junior golf landscape in Singapore. He aspires that the series will aid in unearthing fresh young talents and provide a pathway for junior golfers to fulfil their utmost potential.

Aamiya Koul, a promising junior golfer, has expressed her gratitude towards SGA for the opportunities she has gained through the future and junior squads, allowing her to attain international success. She is of the opinion that the new series will open doors for even more juniors to advance and excel in the sport.

BFG Golf, which had previously committed financial support for SGA, has communicated its enthusiasm for the new series, reiterating their dedication to nurturing the talents of young golfers in Singapore. Lawrence Ng, the founder of BFG Golf, has underscored the significance of providing opportunities for junior golfers to unleash their full potential and excel in the sport they cherish.

For those not within the SGA future squad, entry fees for the tournaments will fluctuate between £25 to £60. Further information and details regarding the tournaments can be perused on golfgenius.com/pages/10131316618857312325.

In conclusion, the unveiling of the SGA-BFG Junior Golf Series is anticipated to be a momentous stride in the advancement of junior golf in Singapore, furnishing a systematic platform for young golfers to demonstrate their capabilities and attain new heights in the sport.
