The girls’ basketball team from Hillside emerged victorious over Southern Durham in a 57-50 win, with a notable surge in the third quarter that provided the Hornets with enough leeway to secure the game in the fourth quarter.
Two key players of the Hornets, Samiyah Barker and Alyssa Malone, each contributed 13 points in the closely contested match against the Spartans. Conversely, Ashlyn Hudson led the scoring for the Spartans with 15 points, closely followed by Briana Hughes with 12 points.
The turning point in the game came at the end of the third quarter, as the Hornets experienced a shift in momentum which ultimately proved crucial in securing another win.
