The Girls Regional Game Series teams for 2024 have been officially announced. The Lead Coaches for the three U18 teams and four U16 teams have revealed the selected players for this year’s series, with Round 1 set to commence this weekend.
A total of 149 players have been chosen across the seven squads, with 38 of them receiving support through Scottish Rugby’s Regional Training Centres as part of the Women’s and Girls performance pathway.
Robbie Lavery, Scottish Rugby’s Performance Pathway Programme Manager, has conveyed his anticipation for the series, emphasizing the platform it offers for young talent to compete and refine their skills.
The U18 and U16 teams consist of players from various clubs and regions, reflecting the diverse talent pool in Scotland. Each squad is led by a dedicated Lead Coach, who has meticulously selected players based on their skillset and potential.
Holland Bogan, an 18-year-old Senior rugby player from Stirling County, has shared her positive experience in the Regional Game Series, highlighting the exposure and learning opportunities it provided.
