During the second period, Wisconsin managed to level the game once more, prompting a heightened focus on defensive strategies from both teams. The game remained deadlocked at 4-4, setting the stage for an intense final period.
Sophomore forward Frank Nazar III made a significant contribution for Michigan, propelling the team to a 5-4 lead early in the third period. Nevertheless, Wisconsin vigorously fought back, successfully equalizing the score at 5-5 with eight minutes remaining in the game.
