The North Rowan boys’ basketball team exhibited an impressive performance in their recent game against the South Davidson Wildcats, securing a resounding 83-66 victory. Despite the absence of leading scorer Amir Alexander due to a bruised Achilles, the team delivered a stellar performance.
Under the guidance of Coach Jason Causby, key players George Maxwell, Jayden Polk, and Dyzarious Carpenter demonstrated a flawless game. Maxwell achieved a season-high of 27 points, while Carpenter contributed 19 points, marking his second-best game of the season. Polk, displaying immense potential, added 14 points, significantly impacting the team’s success.
In addition to the remarkable individual performances, Carpenter and Maxwell combined for seven successful 3-pointers, further enhancing North Rowan’s offensive prowess. Kamahri Feamster also achieved a career-high of 11 points, reinforcing the team’s dominance on the court.
Although South Davidson trailed by only two points at halftime, the Cavaliers exhibited exceptional defensive performance in the second half, securing a convincing win.
Coach Causby commended Maxwell for his exceptional performance, acknowledging his ability to allow the game to unfold naturally without forcing offensive plays. Maxwell’s positive energy and willingness to involve his teammates played a pivotal role in the team’s success.
Despite Alexander’s absence, the team displayed exceptional teamwork and resilience. Alexander is expected to rejoin the lineup in the near future, potentially further strengthening the team’s performance.
South Davidson’s Tanner DeLattre proved to be a formidable opponent, scoring 31 points, including seven successful 3-pointers. Despite his remarkable performance, South Davidson was unable to thwart North Rowan’s dominant display of skill and teamwork.
