Local High School Basketball Teams Notch Impressive Wins

The Richmond boys’ basketball team showcased a dominant performance as they secured a resounding 75-45 victory over Islesboro, causing a stir in the local high school basketball scene. Led by Wyatt Cassidy, who recorded 17 points and seven rebounds, the Bobcats (13-1) also witnessed outstanding contributions from Hunter Mason, who scored 19 points, and Brady Alexander, who scored 10. On the Islesboro side, Robert Conover led the Eagles (7-7) with an impressive 21 points, followed by Harper Conover with 11.

In a separate game, the Monmouth boys’ basketball team clinched a 73-40 win over Old Orchard Beach, largely due to Sam Calder’s outstanding performance, scoring 38 points. The Mustangs (11-3) surged ahead with a 25-1 run during the second quarter, effectively securing their victory. Trot Moody, Brady Plante, and Derrick Webber each contributed nine points for Old Orchard Beach (6-7).

On the girls’ side, the Hall-Dale Bulldogs delivered a commanding 65-14 win over Kents Hill, with Hayden Madore’s impressive 19-point performance leading the way. Jade Graham also made a significant impact with 13 points for Hall-Dale (13-1), while Blythe Dennison contributed five points for the winless Huskies (0-13).

Meanwhile, the Mountain Valley girls’ basketball team triumphed over Oak Hill with a 55-18 win, thanks in part to Ella Young’s 14-point contribution. Brooke Bennett and Madison Dow also made significant contributions with nine and eight points, respectively, for Mountain Valley (5-8). On the losing side, Audrey McElhaney tallied eight points for Oak Hill (1-12).
