We cordially invite you to join us for an exhilarating week of hockey at the Barkman Arena in Caronport as the Prairie Hockey Academy prepares to host the highly anticipated Dave King Elite U15 Invitational tournament, commencing on Thursday evening.
Featuring the participation of eight elite teams from Western Canada and the Northern U.S., the tournament promises not only a thrilling showcase of hockey talent but also serves as a prime opportunity for scouts to identify potential prospects for the upcoming 2024 Western Hockey League Prospects Draft.
The action will commence on Thursday evening with the North Shore Warriors U15 Prep facing off against the Prairie Hockey Academy Cougars at 5 p.m. at the Barkman Arena. The tournament will continue on Friday with PHA competing against the West Central Wheat Kings at 3 p.m., followed by their final preliminary round game against the Minot Wolves U15 AA at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday.
Teams in Pool B, such as the Northern Alberta Extreme, Notre Dame, Pacific Coast Hockey Academy, and Pilot Mound Hockey Academy, will battle for a place in the championship round. The top two teams from each pool will advance to the semifinals, scheduled to take place at the Barkman Arena and Red Knight Arena at 15 Wing Moose Jaw on Saturday at 8:15 p.m.
The excitement will culminate with the gold medal game at 2 p.m. on Sunday at the Barkman, where the top teams will compete for the ultimate prize.
The tournament pays homage to the esteemed hockey personality Dave King, who has served as an advisor to the Prairie Hockey Academy for many years. Renowned for his extensive experience as a Canadian National Team and NHL coach, King’s influence has been invaluable to the PHA programs. Notably, King is the father of PHA Director of Player Development and Moose Jaw Warriors assistant coach, Scott King.
