The University of Texas Men’s Tennis team, ranked No. 4, achieved a significant victory over the No. 15 Stanford Cardinals on Sunday afternoon. This win represents the fourth consecutive triumph for the Longhorns against the Cardinals and their sixth victory in the last seven encounters.
The match commenced with the Longhorns securing the doubles point, claiming wins at the No. 2 and No. 1 positions. The senior-junior tandem of Siem Woldeab and Pierre-Yves Bailly attained an early victory by defeating their opponents at No. 2. Following this, the nation’s third-ranked doubles team, Eliot Spizzirri and Cleeve Harper, sealed the doubles point for Texas with a triumph at No. 1.
During singles play, the Longhorns achieved further victories with outstanding performances from senior Micah Braswell, freshman Gilles-Arnaud Bailly, and senior Cleeve Harper. These victories, in combination with their success in doubles, led the Longhorns to an overall 4-1 triumph over the Cardinals.
